Robert’s Current Status

Filed under: News — Jeff @ 9:55 pm

Not much news has been released about the whole VOIP hacking scheme. So, you’re probably all wondering what is going on with Robert and what exactly will happen to him. He has gone to court twice so far, in New Jersey. Each time he says it’s stressful because the flight is 6 hours for him. After that, it’s pretty much all down hill.

As we all know, he was looking at a maximum of 5 years jail, and a $250,000 fine for hacking into 15 telecommunication companies. His current status on the whole ordeal is actually turning on to look pretty good. While it was originally a level 26 felony, his lawyer has managed to get it down to about 15. At this state, he needs one more point off to get house arrest, if not he will be doing 8-15 months.

But even if he does get house arrest, it has its down sides. He will be on an ankle bracelet for an estimated 9 months (if he behaves) and that costs by the day. Around $10-30 a day. That plus his $250,000.00 fine will be ridiculous.
